A black man driving down an a stretch of unidentified roadway and pulled over by a white police officer put out a video of their exchange with what he deemed a crucial message: Not all policemen are racist, on the hunt for minorities, he said.
The man, not identified by name, put the video on LiveLeak and it soon after went viral.
“I made sure my hands were on the steering wheel,” he said, the Blaze reproted. “I made sure to speak very politely as I always do. I did what he told me to do.”
So what happened?
Nothing, he said. He was given a warning and sent on his way, he said.
But he wanted to send a message out about the racial tensions between police and minority communities around the nation.
“I am an African-American male,” he said. “The gentleman was Caucasian. There were no problems. Just because you’re black doesn’t mean you’re a victim. Just because you’re white doesn’t mean you’re a racist. God doesn’t see color. Why should we?”
Reddit users viewing the video offered mixed reactions.
One accused the black man of pandering to white America; another praised him for “highlight[ing] one of the good encounters” with police, the Blaze reported.
The video comes just days after a South Carolina white police officer was arrested and charged for shooting and killing a fleeing black man he had stopped for a traffic violation.
