Hillary launching for White House

HillaryClinton

Hillary Clinton

Finally: Former secretary of state Hillary Clinton is expected to announce a run for the presidency this weekend, putting to rest months of speculation and debate and officially setting herself in the sights of at least two waiting Republicans, Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, who have already declared their candidacies for the high office.

The Guardian cited a source with knowledge of the campaign and reported Clinton is due to announce her campaign at noon on Sunday.

That Twitter message is then supposed to be followed by a video, an email message and several conference calls. Fox News said her political campaigning will actually begin in Iowa, a key battleground state.

Clinton’s looming announcement will put an end to months of titillating talk coming from her camp about a possible White House run – and bring to forefront once again her email server scandal, her ongoing Benghazi brouhaha and her emerging Clinton Foundation financial contribution questions. Paul just mentioned the donations the foundation accepted from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar are just the tip of a scandalous iceberg that’s about to break, concerning the Clinton family organization.

Political insiders say Clinton’s basic campaign resolve will be to “connect with real people,” Fox News reported.

She’s been quietly assembling a team of campaign staffers, from senior advisers to state operatives, for several weeks and put these people on alert earlier this week to be prepared for a speedy launch. Also in recent days: Clinton’s team signed a lease for a huge campaign headqurters in Brooklyn, New York.
